The 23rd Psalm Project
Like most of my projects, Psalm 23 was inspired by my family and friends. This project took many years to take shape. It began with a pen and ink drawing that I made in May of 1992. It featured a mother sheep and her two lambs. My oldest daughter, Hannah had a "Farm Counting Book" with beautiful pictures taken by Jane Miller of farm animals. The front cover image served as the models for my sketch.

The original pen and ink sketch was used as a
Ladies Luncheon program cover for my church.
Twenty-three years later, my friend,
Laurie Rusk asked me to write out Psalm 23.

I immediately thought of pairing the verse with the sketch.
Over time, as I worked on the calligraphy I thought it would
be better if I made a new water color of the sheep.

The watercolor of the sky came out too light in the original water color. I made a background water color to represent the
sky and reversed the calligraphy to white using Photoshop.
With the help of my son, Andrew, the three pieces were put together...I love how he comes to my rescue when I have tech questions. His help, and that of my 3rd son, David, is the reason why I call my portfolio, Creative Clarkins.

This print is available for $100.00
